Dear Mother,
I am answering your welcome letter which I was very pleased to receive. I have received a letter from Harry at last, it only took him about a month to answer. I was going to write him the same day as I received the one he sent me. Tell Aunt Rachel that I am alright and I am sending the insurance card back as it is no use, We have army cards. I sent for mine from Sawbridge, Worth and the colour sergeant wrote and told me that he was going to try and get me back to the company. But I shall happen be in the regulars by that time because the captain came and asked us if there was any of us that had any experience on a machine gun and I stepped out and me and two more had to go in his office and he asked us if we were willing to go in the regular army and two of us said we were and then he told us that if we heard anything more about it we should have to go down to the training school at Hythe. And then if we were alright we should have to go as instructors. Tell Aunt Rachel I sent that card back but I have not heard anymore about it. I will now close wishing to be remember to all, I remain your loving son,
George
