Dear Mother,
I arrived home quite safe and sound but I had to stand up in the train all the way here from Leicester. I have not heard from Harry not by the time I am writing this but I might receive one tonight. My bed chum told me that there had been orders gave out that we were shipping to Luton on Friday, but I shall not believe it till we get in the train and make a start. Ask Emma if she is better now than when she was when I was at home. Tell her I should like a photo of her, as she’d looked then. So do not write. Tell Harry I am going and just to answer by return or perhaps I shall not get it. Remember me to Aunt Rachel and receive the best of love to all at home, from your loving son,
George
